About L.A. Williams
Les Williams is the owner and principal of LA Williams Copper Gutters and Sheet Metal. Part craftsman and part artist, Les' work is reminiscent of a generation of contractors who value high quality and customer satisfaction above all else.

Les has been part of a large network of architects, builders, remodelers, and roofers for over thirty years. He began his career as an apprentice to Master Roofer Steve Elliott in 1979 where he learned to install Alcoa aluminum gutters as well as galvanized and copper sheet metal. Steve inspired Les to build upon his knowledge of the business and combine great craftsmanship with artistic and one of a kind elements.

In three decades, Les has crafted and installed miles of gutters, downspouts, and thousands of flashings -- all with great attention to detail for long-lasting improvement. He specializes in copper work and has several complete copper roofs in his portfolio.

Les' artistry also takes him to other types of home improvement projects including wood decks, fencing, landscape lighting, garden sheds, custom furniture, planter boxes, mailboxes and fountains. Like his gutter and roofing work, these projects reflect both the clients' desires for their homes and Les' unique artistic touch.

In addition to his craftsmanship, Les has written articles about his work that have appeared in Fine Homebuilding magazine and two books, Renovation and Exterior Finishing both published by Taunton Press. Les received a Preservation Award from the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association in 2006.

Les is the son of two professional classical musicians and is himself a string bass player. He lives in the east bay with his wife Maureen, a gardener, and their two children. When not working on clients' homes, he enjoys playing and listening to music, cycling, cooking, and woodworking.
